Turner Falls is Oklahoma's tallest waterfall — a 77-foot cascade on Honey Creek in the Arbuckle Mountains of Murray County, about 90 miles south of Oklahoma City. The falls are inside Turner Falls Park, a privately operated park owned by the city of Davis since 1925, with swimming areas at the base of the falls plus historic stone castle ruins (Collings Castle, built in 1930), cabin lodging, and a campground. Summer is the peak season; the swimming pools at the base of the falls draw heavy regional traffic. Modest day-use fee.

What to expect

Drive south of Oklahoma City on I-35 to Davis, then west on Highway 77. Pay the Turner Falls Park day-use fee at the gate. Park near the falls. The drive-up access takes you within 0.4 miles of the main viewpoint and swimming area. Multiple swim spots at the base of the falls (officially designated, supervised). Castle ruins, hiking trails, and cabins on-site. Pair with Chickasaw National Recreation Area (45 minutes east).
